Us: Trump Administration’s New Decision To Impose Strict Restrictions On Student And Journalist Visas

The True Post (Web News) According to reports from Washington, the Trump administration has decided to limit the duration of visas for foreign students and journalists.

The move is being linked to visa abuse and stricter vetting of foreigners. In the past, since 1978, foreign students holding F visas were allowed to stay in the United States indefinitely. However, the Department of Homeland Security says that long stays have proven detrimental to American citizens. If the new law is approved, students’ stay will be limited to the duration of their study program. According to the proposal, foreign students will be able to stay in the United States for a maximum of four years, while foreign journalists will be given an initial stay of 240 days. This period can also be extended according to their assignment. Along with this, students and media representatives will also have to undergo a regular vetting process.
It should be remembered that President Trump had proposed a similar visa law in 2020, but the Biden administration overturned the decision after coming to power. Now Trump’s team is trying to push the same policy forward again.
