According to a spokesperson for X, the order received from India includes the accounts of global media organizations and prominent figures. The government has warned that if the accounts are not closed, the company could face heavy fines and the arrest of staff in India. The
social media company says it will limit these accounts only in India, but does not agree with this demand and is exploring all legal options. The move has become a serious question mark on freedom of expression and media freedom, while India’s democratic identity is also being criticized internationally.
