He added that Iran has delayed negotiating agreements that could have been beneficial to it for too long, and now it will have to pay the price. The sanctions target Iranian individuals and institutions that provide support for illegal arms purchases, and the United States has made it clear that it will continue to take more stringent actions against these networks.
These steps come at a time when relations between the United States and Iran are already tense and there is international concern about Iran’s nuclear program and military activities.
