The True PostMeta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has announced three new features designed to make group conversations more organized, interactive, and efficient.

According to the company, the latest updates aim to simplify communication, improve group management, and help users make decisions more effectively. The new features include Smart Polls, Create Similar Group, and @all mentions, and will be rolled out to users gradually.

Smart Polls Make Group Decisions Easier

WhatsApp has upgraded its polling feature with several new options to make voting more flexible.

Users can now:

  • Set an expiration time for polls.
  • Enable anonymous voting to keep responses private.
  • Edit poll questions within 15 minutes after posting if a mistake is made.

The company says these improvements will make polls more useful for schools, workplaces, and community groups where quick decisions are often required.

Create a Similar Group in One Click

WhatsApp has also introduced a “Create Similar Group” feature.

This option allows users to create a new group using the member list of an existing group without manually adding participants again.

The feature is expected to save time and make it easier to organize separate discussions involving the same group of people.

@all Mentions Notify Every Group Member

Another major addition is the @all mention feature.

With a single @all tag, users can notify every member of a group simultaneously instead of tagging individuals one by one.

According to WhatsApp, in groups with more than 32 participants, only group administrators will be allowed to use the feature to prevent excessive notifications and spam.

Mute @all Notifications

To give users more control over notifications, WhatsApp has also introduced an option to mute @all mentions.

Users can choose whether they want to receive or silence these group-wide notifications based on their preferences.

Designed for Schools, Businesses, and Large Groups

Technology experts believe the new tools will be especially useful for:

  • Schools and universities
  • Business teams
  • Office collaboration
  • Community organizations
  • Large family groups

The updates are expected to improve communication, simplify group management, and streamline decision-making.

More Features Expected

Meta says these features are part of its ongoing effort to enhance the WhatsApp user experience. The company is expected to introduce additional updates in the coming months as it continues expanding collaboration and messaging tools across the platform.
