A new requirement has been introduced for Pakistani passengers travelling abroad, under which a vaccination certificate issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will be mandatory for international travel from September 14.
The Airport Health Department has clarified that passengers will not be allowed to board international flights without the required vaccination certificate.
Implementation From September 14
According to officials, the new requirement will take effect on September 14. After that date, vaccination certificates of passengers travelling on international flights will be checked.
The Airport Health Department has issued necessary instructions to relevant authorities and airlines to ensure compliance with the new requirement.
NADRA Certificate Required
Under the new procedure, passengers will have to present a vaccination card or certificate issued by NADRA at the time of travel.
Officials have clarified that simply claiming to have received the required vaccination will not be sufficient. Passengers must have a valid vaccination certificate as proof.
Requirement Applies to All International Passengers
The requirement will not be limited to a specific group of travellers. It will apply to people travelling internationally.

Umrah Pilgrims Also Included
The new requirement also applies to Umrah pilgrims. According to officials, passengers travelling abroad to perform Umrah will also have to obtain their vaccination certificates before departure.
Umrah pilgrims have been advised to make arrangements for their vaccination certificates while preparing for their journey so they do not face difficulties during document checks at the airport.
Instructions Issued to Airlines
The Airport Health Department has also issued clear instructions to all airlines.
Airlines have been directed to check the vaccination cards of passengers travelling abroad and ensure that no passenger boards an international flight without the required document.
The measure is aimed at formalising the process of checking vaccination-related documents at airports.
Designated Vaccination Centre
Authorities have also made an important decision regarding vaccination arrangements for travellers.
The Federal Government’s Civil Dispensary has been designated as the sole vaccination centre for people travelling abroad from the airport. This means passengers who want to receive vaccination at the airport will have to use the designated facility.
Arrive Six Hours Before the Flight
The Airport Health Department has issued special instructions for passengers who wish to receive vaccination at the airport.
Officials have advised such passengers to arrive at the airport at least six hours before their scheduled flight. This will allow sufficient time for vaccination and other required procedures.
Passengers have also been advised not to wait until the last moment, as vaccination, registration and document verification may take additional time.
Online Registration Also Available
According to the Airport Health Department, online registration will also be completed alongside the vaccination facility available at the international departure point.
The online registration process will help organise passengers’ vaccination records and facilitate the completion of the relevant procedures.
