Over the past few days, an altered version of the song has been circulating on the social media platform X, featuring changes made to the original scenes using artificial intelligence.
Janhvi Kapoor’s Position
In a detailed statement, Janhvi Kapoor said that portraying a woman in an objectionable manner without her consent and circulating such fake or altered content is an extremely distressing act. According to her, using technology while disregarding a woman’s personal boundaries and consent is a serious issue.
Exploitation of Women
The actress said that using technology to portray women in this manner is deeply distressing and can be considered close to sexual abuse. She said modern technology such as artificial intelligence should be used for creative and positive purposes rather than to harm someone’s dignity and personal boundaries.
Industry Experience
Janhvi Kapoor said that almost every woman in her film industry has faced some form of such situation. She said the issue is not limited to the film industry, as women around the world are increasingly becoming targets of content created or altered using artificial intelligence.
Consent Is Essential
The actress made it clear that consent, choice and respect for a woman’s body should be among the fundamental principles of human values. According to her, it should not be acceptable to use any woman’s image, video or body against her wishes.
Basic Principles
Janhvi Kapoor said it is unfortunate that basic principles such as respecting women’s consent and personal boundaries are still treated as complicated issues, even though there should be nothing complicated about these principles.
It Has Nothing to Do With Clothing
The actress also stressed that respecting a woman’s personal boundaries is necessary under all circumstances and should have nothing to do with what she is wearing. According to her, a woman’s clothing or appearance cannot be used as a justification for disregarding her consent.
Misuse of AI
