The True Post (Web News) The Alberta government has announced that it will require most residents to pay for the COVID-19 vaccine starting in the fall of 2025, a move that has raised strong concerns from experts and the opposition.
Vaccine Program Details
According to the provincial government, the new vaccine program will be introduced in four phases:
1. Phase 1:
Free vaccine for seniors living in assisted living.
2. Phase 2:
The vaccine will also be free for people with underlying health conditions**.
3. Phase 3:
People 65 and older will have to pay**.
4. Phase 4:
The vaccine will be available to the rest of the public at full price.
(The province has not yet announced the price of the vaccine.)
“With a targeted strategy, we want to ensure fiscal responsibility as well as the safety of those most at risk,” said Health Minister Adriana Lagrange.
