After arriving in New York, Araghchi spoke by telephone with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Iran to Present Its Position at UN
Speaking to Iranian journalists in New York, Araghchi said Iran intends to use the international platform of the General Assembly to present its position and highlight what Tehran describes as the rights and interests of the Iranian people.
The Iranian delegation is expected to use meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly to discuss the regional situation and Iran’s broader diplomatic position.

Iranian Delegation Receives US Visas
The Iranian delegation’s participation in the UN General Assembly comes amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed Tehran for New York on Tuesday, according to reports, and is expected to address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
Before his departure, Pezeshkian said Iran would firmly defend its positions at international forums. His planned appearance will bring both the Iranian president and foreign minister to New York during a high-level diplomatic gathering taking place against the backdrop of continuing tensions in the region.
