Date: October 2, 2026 The True Post (Web News) — Islamabad Pakistan has strongly condemned an attack by the Houthi militia on an electricity transmission system in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and expressed its full solidarity with the Kingdom.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan said it fully supports Saudi Arabia’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and the sanctity of the holy sites.
Attack in Madinah
According to the Foreign Office, the Houthi militia targeted an electricity transmission station in Madinah on September 29. The station is connected to the civilian electricity supply system serving the Prophet’s Mosque, Masjid al-Nabawi (PBUH).
Pakistan described the attack as unacceptable, stating that targeting the electricity supply system in the holy city was an extremely sensitive matter that had hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims.
The Matter of Masjid al-Nabawi (PBUH)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that targeting any essential civilian infrastructure associated with holy sites, including Masjid al-Nabawi (PBUH), cannot be considered acceptable.
The statement said the safety and respect of the two holy mosques, along with the pilgrims, worshippers and visitors present there, must be ensured under all circumstances.
Pakistan described the sanctity of the holy sites and the protection of people visiting them as matters of fundamental importance.
Call for an Immediate Halt to Attacks
The Foreign Office spokesperson called on the Houthi militia to stop such attacks immediately and unconditionally.
According to Pakistan, attacks targeting holy sites and the essential civilian infrastructure connected to them not only affect humanitarian and religious sentiments but also create serious risks to regional peace and security.
Expression of Solidarity with Saudi Arabia
Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stating that it stands with the Kingdom during difficult circumstances.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said the protection of the two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia and the pilgrims and visitors who travel there is of the utmost importance.

The statement noted that Muslims from around the world travel to Saudi Arabia for worship and pilgrimage, making their protection an important responsibility.
