In the context of Pakistan-India tensions, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee presented a detailed position at the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue 2025. General Shamshad Mirza termed India’s use of water as a weapon as a blatant violation of international law. The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee said that Asia-Pacific has become the center of global power and dialogue is essential for the security of South Asia. Conflict prevention is better than post-crisis efforts. General Shamshad Mirza said that Pakistan wants a lasting peace with India on the basis of dignity, equality and respect. The resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions is the basis for peace in South Asia.
