According to a statement issued by the Foreign Minister’s Office, Gideon Saar has contacted the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Argentina, Spain, North Macedonia, and Azerbaijan.
The Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of National Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced that Israel had formally requested assistance from Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy, and Bulgaria to control the fire.
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Hum, train service between Ashdod and Ashkelon in the south has been suspended due to a fire, forcing passengers to disembark.
