Iran’s Blunt Statement: Nuclear Deal Will End If Sanctions Are Reinstated

The True Post(Web News) (Web News) Iran has strongly condemned the United Nations Security Council decision, calling it illegal and unfair, under which the proposal to lift sanctions on Iran was rejected.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Iran will take all possible measures to protect its national interests. Iran’s deputy foreign minister has warned that if the United Nations reimposes sanctions on Iran on September 28, the inspection agreement reached in Cairo with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be immediately suspended. The Iranian deputy foreign minister said in an interview with state TV that if there is no progress at the diplomatic level, sanctions will automatically be reimposed by September 27, and in such a case, Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA will be considered terminated.
He added that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has also made it clear that any sanctions on Iran would be tantamount to the termination of the agreement. It should be noted that the United Nations Security Council had recently rejected a resolution that proposed maintaining the easing of sanctions on Iran. After this decision, all old sanctions on Iran will automatically be restored on September 28 under the “snapback mechanism”. It should be noted that on September 10 of this month, an agreement was reached in Egypt between Iran and the United Nations Atomic Energy Agency, which was signed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and the IAEA Director.
