Indian national deported from Canada for allegedly harassing schoolgirls

The local court also banned 51-year-old Jagjit Singh from re-entering Canada. According to reports, Jagjit Singh came to Canada in July on a 6-month visa to meet his newborn grandson. However, shortly after arriving there, he began approaching young girls in the smoking area outside a high school, trying to take pictures with them and making inappropriate conversations.
Between September 8 and 11, Jagjit Singh repeatedly approached and harassed female students and even chased them outside the school premises. One student told police that she initially did not agree to have her picture taken, but hoped that he would stop chasing her, but Jagjit Singh came very close to her and put his hand on her shoulder while taking the picture, which frightened her. On September 16, police arrested Jagjit Singh and filed a case on sexual harassment and other charges. After being released on bail, he was arrested again on another complaint, and in court he also confessed to harassing the schoolgirls. The court said that his entry into the school premises was in no way permissible and such behavior cannot be accepted under any circumstances. As per the court order, Jagjit Singh was immediately deported from Canada and has been banned from future entry.
