
The True Post (Web News)A daylight shooting outside a busy grocery store in Calgary has left a city shaken after an innocent bystander was injured and one man was killed.
Police said the incident took place in the parking lot o he victims later died in hospital.
Investigators believe the attack was linked to organized crime and that a specific individual was targeted. The second victim, however, had no connection to criminal activity or the suspects and was caught in the gunfire by chance.
Mike Shute said the injured bystander was not involved in any confrontation or attempt to intervene, but was simply going about daily life when the shooting suddenly began. He reportedly tried to run for safety but was struck by a bullet. His condition is now stable and not considered life-threatening.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Leslie Babajid Cole. Police said he had a criminal history involving weapons and drugs-related charges.
Authorities confirmed that two shooters were involved in the incident and fled the scene afterward. No arrests have been made so far.
DJ Kelly expressed strong anger over the incident, saying his home is only a few blocks away and that gunshots were captured on his home security system. He added that his daughter had planned to visit the store just minutes before the shooting took place.
