According to available details, the case did not involve actress Antra Banerjee but another woman named Antra Soham Banerjee.
Reports state that the woman was arrested on August 12 after an alleged altercation with Railway Protection Force personnel on a train and an alleged attack involving a blade. A First Information Report was also registered in connection with the incident.
The confusion arose when the report identifying the accused woman incorrectly used the actress’s name, and her photograph was later circulated alongside the report on social media.
Same or Similar Name, Different Identity
Antra Banerjee later clarified that although her name is similar to that of the accused woman, they are two different individuals.
According to the actress, the name recorded in the FIR includes “Soham,” while her own name is simply Antra Banerjee. She also said that the fathers’ names of the two women are different.
The actress stated that the accused woman’s father’s name was reportedly Soham, while her own father’s name is Subrata Banerjee.
Their residential addresses are also different. Antra said she lives in Jogeshwari, Andheri West, while the address listed in the FIR is reportedly in Thane.
The Question of Verification
