Canada’s fashion and television scene is preparing for the return of Project Runway Canada, with its second season set to premiere on November 20, 2026, on streaming platform Crave.

The new season will feature 10 selected designers from across Canada competing in a series of fashion challenges designed to test their creativity, technical skills and ability to work under pressure.

Contestants will be required to create original garments within limited timeframes and under specific conditions. Their work will be assessed at each stage of the competition, with one designer ultimately emerging as the winner.

The season’s champion will receive a C$100,000 cash prize, recognition as Canada’s next major fashion designer and a special feature in ELLE Canada magazine. The prize could provide a significant platform for an emerging designer seeking to establish a name in the competitive fashion industry.

Coco Rocha Returns as Host and Judge

Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha will return as both host and judge for the second season.

She will be joined on the judging panel by fashion journalist Jeanne Beker and designer Spencer Badu. Their combined experience is expected to bring perspectives from fashion media, design and the wider industry to the competition.

Fashion designer, author and social activist Aurora James will also participate as a mentor, guiding contestants as they develop their ideas and turn their creative concepts into finished garments.

Additional guest judges are expected to appear throughout the season, with their identities to be announced closer to the relevant episodes.

Filming Partnership With Toronto Metropolitan University

The new season was filmed in collaboration with the Fashion department at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto.

The partnership also aims to strengthen connections between fashion education and the professional industry. Students were reportedly given opportunities to gain practical experience, participate in internships and work alongside industry professionals during production.

The initiative adds an educational dimension to the television competition by creating opportunities for students to learn more about professional fashion production and the realities of the industry.

Ten Designers Compete for the Top Prize

The 10 participating designers will have an opportunity to showcase their individual styles to a wider audience while demonstrating their ability to respond to demanding creative briefs.

Beyond winning the competition, exposure on the show could help contestants build professional networks, attract industry attention and advance their careers.

The return of Project Runway Canada is expected to offer fashion fans a fresh look at emerging Canadian talent, innovative designs and the creative pressures of competitive fashion.

According to the supplied announcement, new episodes will be released every Friday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, beginning November 20, 2026, on Crave.
