Date: October 7, 2026 The True Post (Web News) —A hearing was held at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad in the case concerning the removal of barriers against Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha, where the court formally indicted both accused.

Appearance Before the Court

The hearing was conducted by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. Dr. Shireen Mazari, lawyer Eman Khan Mandokhail, Zainab Janjua and others appeared before the court, while prosecutor Raja Naveed was also present.

Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha appeared before the court through video link.

Objection Over Denial of Meeting

Zainab Janjua told the court that despite a court order, she had not been allowed to meet Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha. She also said that copies of the case had not been provided to the two accused.

She said she had waited outside the jail for two hours, but despite the court’s order, the meeting did not take place. Zainab Janjua requested the court to have Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha produced before the court.

Jail Report Mentioned

Judge Tahir Abbas Supra said that he had reports from the jail authorities.

In response, Zainab Janjua questioned why Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha were not being brought to court when other prisoners from Adiala Jail were being produced before courts for hearings.

Indictment

The court formally indicted Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha and summoned prosecution witnesses for the next hearing.

However, Hadi Ali Chatha objected to the indictment proceedings, saying that he had still not been provided with copies of the case. He argued that an indictment could not be formally framed until the legal requirements had been fulfilled.

Lawyer Raises Objection

Zainab Janjua also raised an objection, saying that neither Iman Mazari nor Hadi Ali Chatha had been provided with copies of the case, and lawyers had not been allowed to meet them.

She argued that an indictment could not be framed until all legal requirements had been fulfilled.

Court’s Decision

Despite the objections, the court formally indicted Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha.

During an exchange with Zainab Janjua, Judge Tahir Abbas Supra said that she could challenge the order.

The court ordered that Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha be produced before the court at the next hearing and adjourned the proceedings until October 9.
