The Alleged Us Plan To Divide Gaza, Peace Or Further Crisis?

The True Post  (Web News) A recent report by the British newspaper The Guardian has once again raised serious questions about the future political and administrative status of Gaza.

According to the report, the US has developed a long-term plan to divide Gaza into a “Green Zone” and a “Red Zone,” with the Green Zone under international and Israeli military control, while the Red Zone is left in ruins and destruction. This claim not only undermines the fragile hopes for peace in the region, but also raises deep concerns about US ambitions for the Palestinian right to self-determination.

Gaza is already going through an unprecedented phase of destruction, with more than 80 percent of its infrastructure in ruins and more than two million Palestinians displaced and deprived of basic amenities. In such a situation, the idea of partition in the form of zones could further exacerbate the difficulties of the Palestinian people, rather than reducing practical conflicts. If the Green Zone is placed under international military control and Palestinian governance is limited, it would be tantamount to weakening the foundations of Palestinian sovereignty.

According to the report, the US has abandoned the alternative safe communities plan, but is nevertheless pushing for European countries to join a larger peacekeeping force. Europe’s reluctance is natural in this context, as deploying a global force without an Israeli withdrawal could turn Gaza into a permanent military laboratory. Moreover, the lack of clarity on the role and timeframe of Israeli forces makes the plan even more dubious. The Guardian has rightly pointed out that this plan could be the beginning of a long game of power and control in Gaza in the name of peace.
International human rights organizations have also expressed serious reservations about the US plan. They argue that if reconstruction, Palestinian autonomy and the restoration of aid routes are not prioritized, any peacekeeping force will itself become a besieged entity. The people of Gaza need the most to rebuild destroyed homes, provide medical facilities, clean water, food and restore daily life — not a new military deployment.

The Gaza crisis is not just a regional issue, but a test of global conscience. If the United States or any other country attempts to shape Gaza’s future outside the will, sovereignty, and human rights of the Palestinian people, the consequences will be long-lasting and devastating. A solution for Gaza must be based on the aspirations of its people, international humanitarian law, and respect for human dignity—not on military zones and the balance of power.
The United States must understand that a lasting peace is not possible unless the Palestinians are given their legitimate right to self-determination and the basic guarantees of a dignified life. The plan to divide Gaza is not a path to peace, but could lead to further division, uncertainty, and tension. The world needs to unite around an agenda of reconstruction, transparent diplomacy, and humanitarianism—not another artificial political map.
