The observance serves as an occasion to highlight the Kashmir dispute internationally and draw attention to the political and human rights concerns surrounding the region. Pakistan continues to call for a resolution in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the right of the Kashmiri people to determine their own future.
The events organized by Pakistan’s diplomatic missions across Canada reaffirmed Pakistan’s stated commitment to continue raising the Kashmir issue at international forums and expressing solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir until their aspirations for self-determination are fulfilled.
