Frozen Masterpiece, The Story Of The Russian Luxury Ship “Fe” In London

The True Post  (Web News) Despite its splendor, the Russian luxury ship “Fi”, worth 38 million pounds, has been quietly moored in the port of London for the past three years.

The 59-meter-long ship, originally designed for luxurious voyages in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, has now become a lifeless monument under international sanctions.
Dozens of Russian assets around the world have been hit by global sanctions since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “Fi” is among those assets. Its seizure was a symbolic move, intended to show the world that the Russian elite can no longer live their days of luxury in secret.
Tom Keating, director of financial crime and security studies at the Royal United Services Institute, says: *“The seizure of these ships was big news for the media, but its impact on the actual war strategy was limited.” The UK Supreme Court upheld the ban in a ruling today.

The court said that the seizure of the ship and its owner, Mr. Schodler,’s assets was certainly an interference with their personal rights, but that this interference was carried out for a legitimate and lawful purpose – to pressure Russia to reduce its aggressive actions in Ukraine. Indeed, the “Fe” has become no longer just a ship, but a symbol of the clash of international law, power, and politics – a majestic prisoner who silently witnesses the changing winds of the world.
