Date: October 3, 2026 The True Post (Web News) —The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased petroleum product prices once again, announcing new rates for petrol and high-speed diesel.

The new prices will remain in effect from October 3 to October 5. The Energy Division has issued an official notification in this regard.

Petrol Becomes More Expensive

According to the notification, the price of petrol has increased by Rs. 2.10 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 392.76 per litre.

The increase comes at a time when consumers are already facing additional financial pressure due to high fuel costs.

With the new price taking effect, daily commuters who rely on petrol-powered cars and motorcycles will face higher travel expenses.

Diesel Prices Also Increase

The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised. According to the notification, diesel has become more expensive by Rs. 0.30 per litre.

Following the increase, the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs. 399.64 per litre.

Despite the relatively small increase, the adjustment could affect the transportation sector because diesel is widely used by freight vehicles and in various other industries.

New Prices Effective for Three Days

Following the latest increase, the revised petroleum prices will remain in effect from October 3 to October 5.

The government has made the adjustment in view of changes in the international market. Before implementing the new rates, petrol and diesel prices were reviewed, after which OGRA determined the revised prices.

Impact of the International Market

According to the Petroleum Division, changes in the international market have been a major factor behind adjustments to domestic petroleum prices.

The new rates have been determined after considering international petroleum product prices, Platts rates, premiums and other relevant factors.

Impact on Consumers

The latest increase in petrol prices will add to the monthly expenses of ordinary consumers. People who use motorcycles and cars will now have to spend more on fuel than before.

Similarly, the increase in diesel prices could affect transportation costs. Since diesel is widely used in freight and passenger transport, changes in fuel prices can influence operating expenses across several sectors.

Continued Price Adjustments

Petroleum product prices in Pakistan continue to be adjusted in response to international market conditions.

The latest decision also takes into account international prices, the import costs of petroleum products and other relevant factors.

The government and concerned authorities review developments in the global market before determining domestic fuel prices.

New Prices Take Effect

Under the revised rates effective from October 3 to October 5, petrol will be available at Rs. 392.76 per litre, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs. 399.64 per litre.

Petrol has increased by Rs. 2.10 per litre, while diesel has risen by Rs. 0.30 per litre.

According to officials, the latest adjustments reflect changes in international market prices, Platts rates, premiums and other relevant factors. Future price decisions will also take these factors and international market conditions into account.
