The True Post (Web News) — Toronto, August 19, 2026: Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Shafaa Hussain, along with a business delegation, visited the Canola Council of Canada in Toronto and met with its President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Davison.
The meeting focused on strengthening trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Canada, with detailed discussions on opportunities for cooperation in oilseed crops, agri-food and agro-industrial sectors.
Both sides agreed to maintain existing cooperation between Pakistan and Canada while exploring opportunities to expand collaboration into additional areas of mutual interest.
Focus on Agriculture and Agro-Industry
The meeting also discussed business opportunities available in Pakistan’s agricultural and agro-industrial sectors, as well as ways to increase bilateral trade and strengthen cooperation in investment.
The delegation led by Shafaa Hussain is visiting Canada with the objective of further strengthening business-to-business ties between Pakistan and Canada and exploring new opportunities for cooperation across various sectors.
Canola Sector Offers New Opportunities
Canola and other oilseed crops are considered an important area of potential cooperation in agricultural trade between Pakistan and Canada.
In this context, the meeting with the Canola Council of Canada was viewed as an important opportunity to explore future cooperation in agriculture, agri-food and agro-industrial development.
