A serious traffic accident on Stoney Trail in Calgary on Wednesday afternoon left one person severely injured and forced police to temporarily close several major ramps in northwest Calgary.
Emergency crews were called to the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail near Crowchild Trail NW at approximately 3:45 p.m. following reports of a serious collision.
Police and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance and begin their investigation.
Vehicle Overturns in Crash
According to police, the collision involved a single vehicle that overturned on the roadway.
At least one person inside the vehicle was injured in the crash. Emergency personnel provided initial medical assistance at the scene before transporting the injured person to hospital for further treatment.
Authorities said the injuries could potentially have long-term consequences for the victim.

Several Routes Closed
