
The True Post (Web News)Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for accepting the request to extend the ceasefire in the Iran conflict.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said he, along with Field Marshal Asim Munir, appreciates President Trump’s decision to pause military action and extend the ceasefire. He added that Pakistan believes this step will help create space for diplomacy and reduce tensions.
Shehbaz Sharif further expressed hope that the parties involved in the conflict will reach a comprehensive peace agreement during the second round of talks expected to be held in Islamabad. He stressed that Pakistan will continue to play its role in promoting dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes.
The Prime Minister also urged all sides to strictly adhere to the ceasefire and avoid any actions that could escalate the situation further.
Earlier, President Trump had stated that at the request of Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, planned strikes against Iran had been postponed until Tehran presents a unified proposal through negotiations.
