WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has confirmed that nearly 100 additional American service members have been injured during the recent two-week conflict involving Iran, as military officials continue to assess the full impact of the attacks.
According to Pentagon officials, most of the injured personnel suffered varying degrees of injuries and have since returned to active duty after receiving medical treatment.
Pentagon Provides Updated Casualty Figures
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said that approximately 100 U.S. troops have been injured since July 7.
He added that around 96% of the wounded service members have fully or partially recovered and resumed their military duties.
The Pentagon emphasized that medical care continues for those still undergoing treatment.
Identities of Two Fallen Soldiers Released
The update comes after the U.S. military publicly identified two American service members killed in a recent Iranian attack.
Previously, the Pentagon had reported that, since February 28, a total of 14 U.S. service members had been killed and 427 injured in operations linked to the ongoing regional conflict.
Casualty Toll Could Increase
U.S. officials say the final death toll may rise as investigations continue into attacks targeting American military installations in Jordan and northern Iraq.
According to U.S. media reports, military forensic teams are examining unidentified human remains recovered from the attack site in Jordan.
Officials say the ongoing forensic analysis could determine whether additional U.S. personnel were killed in the strikes.
Previous U.S. Casualties
The United States had previously acknowledged the deaths of three American service members in Iranian attacks, while one U.S. soldier remains missing.
The U.S. military also confirmed that another American service member was killed during an operation in northern Iraq on July 18.
Earlier, an Iranian missile strike in Jordan reportedly killed two U.S. troops, left one missing, and injured four others.
Regional Tensions Remain High
Military tensions between the United States and Iran remain elevated as both sides continue exchanging military actions across the region.
U.S. officials say recent operations are intended to deter attacks on international shipping and protect American interests and allied forces.
Iran, meanwhile, has continued targeting U.S. military facilities and allied positions in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other locations across the Middle East.
Injury Figures Continue to Rise
According to the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS), more than 413 U.S. military personnel had been reported wounded in action since the conflict began.
