The True Post (Web News) India unilaterally suspended the Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam incident.
Pakistan has decided to issue a notice through regular diplomatic channels on India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. According to sources, after legal and constitutional consultations on the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Law have done their initial homework. The notice through diplomatic channels will seek concrete reasons for the suspension of the treaty. It is also being considered to register a strong protest at international forums against the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, in which India’s water aggression will be effectively brought to the attention of the world. The aim of this move is to provide legal and moral justification for Pakistan’s position. Pakistan has legal superiority over the Indus Waters Treaty and it is hoped that India will soon have to reconsider its decision. Sources say that all steps will be taken after the approval of the government and the cabinet.
